Shred the Gnar

Shred the Gnar made her career debut as a 3-year-old at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 9, 2025, and won her maiden race in her second lifetime outing there on March 16. Her next start was at Churchill Downs where she made it two wins in a row with an allowance victory on May 2.

Following a six-month break, Schred the Gnar returned to the track and returned to the winner's circle with a score in her stakes debut in the Grade 3 Chilukki Stakes presented by Resolute Racing at Churchill Downs on Nov. 15. She then took another break of just under three months, but her 4-year-old debut did not go as planned. Sent off as the 6-5 favorite in the Grade 3 Royal Delta Stakes at Gulfstream Park, Shred the Gnar was bumped three times early and then had to steady later in the race and finished sixth of seven, 19 lengths behind the winner.

Coming off of the only disappointing start of her career, Shred the Gnar was still backed by bettors at 3.21-1 odds in the Grade 1 Fasig-Tipton La Troienne Stakes May 1 at Churchill Downs. Back at the track where she dominated in two starts at age 3, Shred the Gnar put it all together by posting a game one-length win over favored Fully Subscribed, improving her career record to four wins and one second in five starts.

Schred the Gnar is trained by Brian Lynch. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Into Mischief out of the mare Aspen Light by Bernardini.
