She Can't Sing

She Can't Sing earned her first stakes win in upset fashion. Sent off as a 24.50-1 outsider in the $100,000 Albert M. Stall Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds on Feb. 19, 2022, she came up the inside and got up late to win by a neck over favorites Pass the Plate and Abscond in the 1 1/16-mile turf race. She won her second consecutive stakes race back on the grass at Fair Grounds on Mar. 26, taking the $100,000 Tom Benson Memorial Stakes. Despite her last-out stakes win, she again was sent-off as a longshot at 9.80-1 that day en route to another upset victory.

She Can't Sing continued her successful 5-year-old campaign in 2022 with another turf stakes win when she won the $100,000 Lady Canterbury Stakes at Canterbury Park on June 22. She ran the mile in a winning time of 1:33.82 to come out on top by a length in the nine-horse field.

While She Can't Sing was racking up three turf stakes victories in 2022, the fact still remained that four of her first seven career victories had come on the dirt and she is at least as good on the main track as she is on the grass. She proved that at on Nov. 19 at Churchill Downs when she switched back to the dirt and won the Grade 3 $300,000 Chilukki Stakes for the first Graded stakes win of her career. Sent off as the 7-2 third choice on the tote board in the Chilukki, She Can't Sing fought back and forth for the lead before kicking clear at the top of the stretch and extending to a 3 3/4-length victory in a field of six. She completed the one-mile distance on the dirt in a time of 1:35.38.

She Can't Sing is trained by Chris Block. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Bernardini out of the mare Distorted Music by Distorted Humor.
