Powershift began his career as a 3-year-old and finished second in his first lifetime start in a maiden race at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 7, 2026. He was beaten by just a half a length in that 1 mile & 40-yard debut race by next-out Louisiana Derby winner Emerging Market. Powershift subsequently made his second start in the Tampa Bay Derby on March 7 and finished sixth.
Powershift was back versus maidens in his third lifetime start going 1 1/16 miles at Churchill Downs on May 2 and took care of business that day with a 2 3/4-length win atop an eight-horse field.
