Paddington was fifth on his debut at Ascot in September 2022 but was unbeaten in his five subsequent starts for trainer Aidan O'Brien. ninth winner in the St James's Palace Stakes.
After losing his career debut maiden 2-year-old race at Ascot Racecourse, Paddington raced just once more as a 2-year-old when he earned his first career win at the Curragh on Oct. 23, 2022.

Paddington was given time off and returned with a string of victories to begin his 3-year-old season in 2023. He won a handicap impressively at Naas. Then and then went and won the Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh on May 1. From there, Paddington won consecutive Group 1 races, first with a victory in the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas on May 27, and then with a score at Royal Ascot in the St James's Palace Stakes on June 20.
O'Brien said of Paddington that he is "improving and improving. He's a smart horse, really quick, and handles all types of ground."
