Osbourne broke his maiden in his second career start, a seven-furlong maiden special weight race at Churchill Downs on Nov. 17, 2021. He dueled on the lead early, then dismissed his rival and drew off to win by 1 3/4 lengths as the 0.50-1 favorite.
Next out, Osbourne made his stakes debut in the Remington Springboard Mile Stakes at Remington Park on Dec. 17. He battled gamely in the stretch and finished second, beaten three-quarters of a length. For his efforts, he earned four points on the road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve.
