Mrs. Danvers, a Tapit filly homebred by Joseph Allen and trained by Shug McGaughey, broke her maiden in her second start on Aug. 18, 2019, winning a 6 ½-furlong sprint at Saratoga by 1 ¼ lengths. She did not race again until June 2020, and finished second in her first two starts as a 3-year-old before checking in a well-beaten fifth in the Grade 1 Longines Test Stakes.
After a break of nearly two months, Mrs. Danvers returned to post a close runner-up finish in a Belmont Park allowance, and then won another allowance race by a neck on Oct. 25.

McGaughey then stretched Mrs. Danvers out to the two-turn, 1 1/8-mile Grade 3 Comely Stakes at Aqueduct on Nov. 27, and the filly responded with an authoritative 6 ¼-length victory under Jose Lezcano.
Mrs. Danvers began her 2021 campaign with a fifth-place finish in the Grade 3 Royal Delta Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 20. She bounced back next out, finishing second in the Top Flight Invitational at Aqueduct on Apr. 10 after setting the early pace.
Mrs. Danvers is out of the unraced Awesome Again mare Gracie Square, who is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and leading sire War Front.
