A daughter of top Maryland stallion Great Notion, Luna Belle broke her maiden impressively at Colonial Downs on Aug. 24, 2021. She won a six-furlong maiden special weight race by six lengths after rating off the pace.
Luna Belle ended her 2-year-old season with her first stakes win. She took the Maryland Juvenile Fillies Championship by 2 3/4 lengths at Laurel Park on Dec. 18, upsetting heavy favorite Jester Calls Nojoy.

Luna Belle was dominant at Laurel during the first half of the 2022 season. She won four consecutive stakes races by a combined margin of 17 lengths. She won the Xtra Heat Stakes on Jan. 29, the Wide Country Stakes on Feb. 19, the Beyond the Wire Stakes on March 19, and the Weber City Miss Stakes on April 16. In each of those starts, she moved powerfully to the lead on the final turn and drew away to win impressively. Denis Araujo had the mount in all four races.
