Lane Way posted top-three finishes in each of his first five career races as a 3-year-old in 2020 but did not reach the winner’s circle until his sixth start on Aug. 22 at Del Mar when he rallied to win a one-mile maiden special weight race by a neck. He subsequently finished third by three-quarters of a length in the Let It Ride Stakes in November at Del Mar before an unplaced finish in the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby in his final start as a 3-year-old.

Lane Way raced only twice in 2021, winning an October allowance-optional claiming race by 2 ¾ lengths. The Into Mischief gelding ran second by a half-length in his 5-year-old bow July 30, 2022, at Del Mar, and followed with another runner-up finish at the seaside track in the Grade 3 Green Flash Stakes Sept. 4 as he seems to have found his niche as a turf sprinter.
Corderosa, a Grade 3-placed winner by Aldebaran, is the dam (mother) of Lane Way. Corderosa also produced stakes-placed winner Orecchiette.
