King Fury

In his third career start, King Fury won his first career stakes race. He won the Street Sense Stakes at Churchill Downs by half a length on Oct. 25, stalking the leaders and kicking by them late. 

Off that performance, King Fury was entered in the Grade 1 TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance at Keeneland on Nov. 7. He was seventh at 59.50-1.

King Fury made his 3-year-old debut a winning one, taking the Grade 3 Stonestreet Lexington Stakes at Keeneland at 18.20-1 on Apr. 10, 2021. After rating well off the pace on a sloppy track, he rallied from behind off a fast pace and drew away to victory by 2 3/4 lengths. He covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.50, under Brian Hernandez Jr.

King Fury was entered in the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, but was scratched after spiking a fever. He returned with a fast-closing second-place finish in the Grade 3 Ohio Derby at Thistledown on June 26. He picked up another stakes win with a dominant performance in the Bourbon Trail Stakes at Churchill on Sept. 25. He won by thirteen lengths, going 1 3/16 miles in 1:56.01. 

King Fury sold for $950,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Sale in August 2019. His sire (father) Curlin and his dam (mother) Taris both won multiple graded stakes races.
