Kale's Angel won his maiden race as a 2-year-old in his second lifetime race in a five-furlong turf sprint at Del Mar on Aug. 23, 2024, and continued to compete as a turf horse throughout his first four career starts. He switched to the dirt for the first time for the final start of his juvenile season when shipped to Oaklawn Park for the running of the $150,000 Advent Stakes going 5 1/2 furlongs on Dec. 6. He sprang to life with his best career effort up to that point in his career that day to score a 5 3/4-length stakes victory.

Kale's Angel made his 3-year-old debut in the $250,000 Smarty Jones Stakes going 1 1/16 miles at Oaklawn Park on Jan. 4, 2025. He raced in contention much the race and faded to third in the stretch. The Smarty Jones Stakes was a points race on the Road to the 2025 Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, and with his third-place finish he earned three qualifying points.
Kale's Angel is trained by Peter Miller. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Complexity out of the mare Love Affair by Malibu Moon.
