Goliad, a 7-year-old War Front gelding, tallied his first career stakes victory in start no. 16 when he won the Grade 3 Thunder Road Stakes by three lengths in gate-to-wire fashion Feb. 3, 2024 on turf at Santa Anita Park. He entered the Thunder Road off of a similar frontrunning win in an allowance optional claiming race Jan. 7 at Santa Anita.
The Richard Mandella trainee is out of the winning Dynaformer mare Choreograph, who has produced two other stakes winners.
