Gift List began her racing career in her native England during summer 2020 with a close runner-up finish, and she won her next start by a neck on an all-weather track. The Bated Breath filly then won an allowance race and finished second in two more to finish her 3-year-old season.

She was shipped to the U.S. for 2021 and joined Brian Lynch’s stable. He started Gift List in the Grade 2 Appalachian Stakes Presented by Japan Racing Association on April 3 at Keeneland, and she finished second behind wire-to-wire winner Jouster. The filly made her next start in the Grade 2 Edgewood Stakes Presented by Newport Racing and Gaming at Churchill Downs on the April 30 Kentucky Oaks undercard.
Sent off as the 4.40-1 betting choice behind heavily favored Aunt Pearl, Gift List moved up in the turn and flew past that pacesetting foe at the top of the stretch en route to an overpowering 4 ¼-length victory.
Owned by Amerman Racing Stables, Gift List is out of the Group 3-winning Machiavellian mare Birthstone.
