Gas Me Up was ridden to victory by Flavien Prat in the one-mile, $200,000, Grade 2 bet365 King Edward Stakes on the Woodbine turf course on Aug. 16, 2025. The 5-year-old gelded son of Hard Spun out of the Smart Strike mare Chic Thrill edged Wyoming Bill by three-quarters of a length in 1:33.85 to tally his first stakes win. The victory improved Gas Me Up's career record to 4-1-0 in eight lifetime outings.

Gas Me Up followed that breakthrough stakes win with more success during his 5-year-old season. He finished a solid third behind Notable Speech in the Grade 1 Rogers Woodbine Mile and then seventh, defeated by only 4 ¼ lengths, behind Notable Speech again in the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile Presented by PDJF.
In his final start of 2025, Gas Me Up shipped to Santa Anita Park and scored a 13.10-1 upset win in the $202,500, Grade 2 Joe Hernandez Stakes under Mirco Demuro on Dec. 29, taking the turf race held at about 6 ½ furlongs on Santa Anita’s downhill course by 1 ¼ lengths.
Ontario-bred Gas Me Up is out of the winning and stakes-placed Smart Strike mare Chic Thrill and is a full brother to stakes winner Give It a Whirl. His second dame is Canadian champion Catch the Thrill.
