Francesco Clemente began his racing career as a 3-year-old in 2022 in Great Britain and was the winner of his first three starts at distances ranging from one mile to 1 1/4 miles on the grass. He was brought to North America mid-way through his 4-year-old season in 2023 and had one win in three U.S. starts that year in a 1 3/8-miles turf race at Aqueduct on Oct. 19, 2023. His next race was against stakes competition, and he just missed by a neck in the 1 1/2-mile Grade 2 Hollywood Turf Cup at Del Mar on Nov. 24.

Francesco Clemente made his 5-year-old debut a winning one racing for trainer Chad Brown with a win in the Grade 3 $200,000 William L. McKnight Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 27, 2024. Sent off as the 2-1 favorite on the tote board in an 11-horse field in the McKnight, Francesco Clement raced far back off a fast pace and rallied to get up in time for his first Graded stakes victory.
