Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners purchased Fondly as a yearling for $50,000 and sent the Upstart filly to trainer Graham Motion. She won her career debut Feb. 14, 2025, at Tampa Bay Downs by four lengths despite significant traffic trouble on the turn.
Motion next entered Fondly in the $250,000 Virginia Oaks March 15 at Colonial Downs, a test of both class and stamina at 1 1/16 miles, and she aced the exam by wearing down Anonima in the stretch and holding off the late rally of Early On to win her stakes debut by a half-length.

Fondly got back into the winner's circle in her next start, which was the fourth start of her career, when she went wire-to-wire to win the Grade 3 $300,000 Delaware Oaks ny three lengths atop a nine-horse field going 1 1/16 miles on June 14.
Produced by the winning Istan mare Lifetime Memory, Fondly is a half-sister (same dam [mother], different sire) to 2024 Peter Pan Stakes winner Antiquarian.
