Filoso rallied belatedly in his career debut July 20, 2024, at Saratoga Race Course to pass a few horses late in a fourth-place finish. He stretched out from that three-quarter-mile sprint to a mile for his second race and proved much the best Aug. 29 at Saratoga, where he powered to a 3 ½-length victory for owner Gold Square.

Filoso made his stakes debut next in the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity and finished a distant third behind winner East Avenue at 29.88-1 odds. He subsequently ran sixth in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes Nov. 30 at Churchill Downs in his fourth career start.
A dark bay or brown colt by City of Light, Filoso was produced by the stakes-winning Bodemeister mare Kenda from the family of Grade 1 winner Domestic Product.
