Empire of Gold lit up the tote board in his final two starts of 2020. On Oct. 2 at Keeneland, he made his graded stakes debut in the Grade 2 Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes, and finished second, beaten 3/4 of a length, at 51.10-1. That race earned him a trip to the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Sprint on Nov. 7, where he was fourth at 51.30-1.
In his 2021 debut, Empire of Gold was third in the Grade 3 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap at Oaklawn Park on Apr. 10.
