Dubyuhnell

Dubyuhnell began his career on Sept. 3, 2022, at Saratoga with a fourth-place finish in a 2-year-old maiden race going seven furlongs. He won his maiden race in his next start with a stretchout to one mile at Aqueduct on Oct. 2. Dubyuhnell scored the maiden win over a sloppy track by a margin of 2 1/2 lengths in a time of 1:38.4.

With distance clearly not posing a problem for Dubyuhnell, he made his next start in the Grade 2 $250,000 Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct on Dec. 3 where he raced around two turns for the first time at 1 1/8 miles and once again raced on a sloppy track. Dubyuhnell pressed the pace setter, Arctic Arrogance, in the Remsen and challenged for the lead at the top of the stretch as the duo extended to an 11-length lead over the rest of the field. Dubyuhnell won the battle by a half a length and stopped the clock in a time of 1:50.88. He was sent off as the 4-1 third choice on the tote board and paid $10.00 to win under jockey Jose Ortiz. The Remsen was a points race in the Road to the Kentucky Derby series. With the win, Dubyuhnell earned 10 qualifying points for the starting gate for the 2023 Kentucky Derby.

Dubyuhnell was bred in Kentucky by the sire Good Magic out of the mare Wild Gams by Forest Wildcat.
