Ceiling Crusher

Ceiling Crusher began his career on June 3, 2022 with a win at Santa Anita at first asking in what would be her only race of her 2-year-old season. She returned as a 3-year-old and won again on Jan. 29, 2023 in an allowance optional claiming race at six furlongs at Santa Anita. From there, Ceiling Crusher went up in class in a pair of California bred stakes races and absolutely annihilated the competition in the $150,000 Evening Jewel Stakes on April 8, which she won by 15 1/2 lengths, and in the $150,000 Melair Stakes on May 28, which she won by 17 lengths.

After beginning her career with four straight wins, Ceiling Crusher suffered her first defeat when she finished third in the $175,000 Fleet Treat Stakes at Del Mar on July 27.

Following that defeat, Ceiling Crusher wasted no time rebounding in her next outing, which came against open company for the first time in the Grade 3 $150,000 Torrey Pines Stakes. Sent off as the favorite from the outside post in an eight-horse field, Ceiling Crusher went straight to the front and extended to a six-length victory in a one-mile winning time of 1:37.41.

Just three weeks after the Torrey Pines victory, Ceiling Crusher shipped to Parx on Sept. 23 for the $1 million Cotillion Stakes and became a Grade 1 winner with a half-length victory over a nine-horse field that included Kentucky Oaks victress Pretty Mischievous. 

Ceiling Crusher is trained by Doug O'Neill. She was bred in California by the sire Mr. Big out of the mare Palisadesprincess by Indian Charlie.
