Bold Journey began his racing career as a 2-year-old in 2021 and won his maiden race at Aqueduct in his second career start on Dec. 18. He then went on to win four allowance or allowance optional claiming races in 2022 and 2023 at Aqueduct, Belmont Park, or Belmont at the Big A. Bold Journey won his first stakes race on Nov. 24, 2023 in the Grade 3 Fall Highweight Handicap at Aqueduct when he made a last-to-first rally in a five-horse field by a length carrying 128 pounds.

Bold Journey went winless in 10 outings in the 2025 calendar year, mainly in turf sprints, but returned to dirt sprinting for the beginning of his 7-year-old season in 2026 and it paid off when he secured a stakes win in the Grade 3 $175,000 Tom Fool Stakes going six furlongs at Aqueduct on Feb. 28.
