The New York Racing Association revealed Monday a selection of special wagers to be offered during the four-day 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival to be held from Thursday, June 6, through Sunday, June 9, at Saratoga Race Course.
Highlighted by the 156th edition of the Grade 1, $2 million Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets on Saturday, June 8, the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival will include 24 stakes races with purses totaling $10.25 million, the highest purse levels and number of stakes offered since the launch of the multi-day Festival in 2014.
An array of two-day wagers is highlighted by the “All Dirt” Pick 6, which will open on Friday, June 7 and concludes with the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 8. The “All Dirt” Pick 6 will feature a $1 base bet and low 15% takeout.
The “All Turf” two-day Pick 5 will offer a $0.50 base bet and 15% takeout, while the two-day Pick 4 will see a $2 base with 24% takeout.
The two-day Pick 6 opens on Friday and continues Saturday, ending with a mandatory force out in the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets.
The sequence begins on Friday in Race 12 with the Grade 1, $500,000 DK Horse Acorn Stakes and continues Saturday with the Grade 2, $350,000 True North Stakes presented by F. W. Webb in Race 4; the Grade 2, $350,000 Suburban Stakes in Race 6; the Grade 1, $500,000 Woody Stephens Stakes presented by Mohegan Sun in Race 8; and the Grade 1, $1 million Hill ‘n’ Dale Metropolitan Handicap in Race 10 before concluding with the Belmont Stakes in Race 12.
The two-day “All Turf” Pick 5 opens with a pair of Grade 1 races on Friday in the $500,000 Just a Game Stakes in Race 10 and $750,000 New York Stakes presented by Rivers Casino in Race 11 and concludes Saturday with the Grade 3, $350,000 Poker Stakes in Race 5; the Grade 1, $500,000 Jaipur Stakes presented by Resolute Racing in Race 9; and the Grade 1, $1 million Resorts World Casino Manhattan Stakes in Race 11.
The two-day Pick 4 opens Thursday with the Grade 2, $250,000 Belmont Gold Cup in Race 10 and concludes Friday with the Grade 2, $200,000 Intercontinental Stakes presented by MTV Solutions in Race 9; the Grade 1 New York in Race 11; and the Grade 1 Acorn in Race 12.
Each day of the four-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival will feature an “All-Turf Triple Play” Pick 3 wager with a $3 base, 19% takeout and mandatory payout.
There will also be six special “Double” wagers on offer, each with a $5 base and 18.5% takeout beginning Thursday with the “Gold Cup—New York” Double along with five double wagers concluding on the Belmont Stakes that begin with either the New York, Acorn, Intercontinental, Just a Game or Met Mile.
The traditional $1 Pick 6 will also be offered on each day of the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, including a $44,200 carryover on Opening Day Thursday that kicks off in Race 5 with a post time of 3:01 p.m. ET.
The Pick 6 on Saturday, June 8 will feature six Grade 1 events (Races 7-12), concluding with the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets.
Belmont Stakes Day will feature five Pick 5 wagers with all but the opening and late Pick 5 offering a mandatory payout. An additional middle Pick 5 wager with a mandatory payout will be offered on June 6 (Races 3-7), while the June 7 card will include two additional middle Pick 5s (Races 3-7 and Races 5-9) with mandatory payouts. Sunday’s 12-race card will feature a middle Pick 5 (Races 5-9) on Closing Day of the four-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival.
