Golden Tempo rallied for a 23-1 upset win in the 2026 Kentucky Derby May 2 at Churchill Downs in front of 150,000 cheering fans. Ninety-eight miles down I-64 in Paris, Ky., there was likewise a celebration on a smaller scale at the farm where Golden Tempo was born and raised: Claiborne Farm.
Golden Tempo’s dam (mother), Carrumba, still lives at Claiborne Farm. She was a graded stakes winner on the racetrack and is a strong, physically impressive gray mare in her second career in the breeding shed.
