In 2020, Kevin Ryan became the first European-based trainer to win the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, when his Group 1 winner Glass Slippers scored at Keeneland. That was his second starter in the World Championships; he finished second in the 2018 Juvenile Fillies Turf with East.
Ryan began his career as a jockey in steeplechase races before transitioning to training. He has conditioned top-class horses in Europe over the past 20 years including 2014 Prix du Jockey Club winner The Grey Gatsby and 2020 Diamond Jubilee Stakes winner Hello Youmzain.
