Dan Blacker, a native of England, graduated from the Darley Flying Start program and fell in love with American racing after attending the 2006 Kentucky Derby with fellow students. He got his start working for several British trainers but also gained experience assisting Hall of Famer Richard Mandella, and during that time decided to begin his career in California.

Since going out on his own in 2011, Blacker has enjoyed success in the Golden State with stakes winners including Double Touch and Ritzy A. P. He earned his first graded stakes win, and later his first Grade 1 win, with Hit the Road in 2021.
