The $2 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff is the signature race restricted to fillies and mares at the 2020 World Championships, which will be held Nov. 6-7 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky.
Saturday’s Maryland Million is the day in the sun for the Maryland Thoroughbred breeding industry, one of the fastest-growing state breeding programs. The card at Laurel Park features 12 races, restricted to horses sired by a stallion standing in Maryland (in short, horses whose fathers are based at stallion farms in Maryland). Highlighting the card, as usual, is the $150,000 Maryland Million Classic Stakes.
