Only three racemares have won the Breeders’ Cup Distaff multiple times since the race debuted at the inaugural Breeders’ Cup World Championships in 1984.
The $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic is the signature race at the 2020 World Championships, which will be held Nov. 6-7 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky. The 1 1/4-mile race will be televised live Nov. 7 on NBC with a scheduled post time of 5:13 p.m. ET.
In a year that has been anything but normal, one thing we can count on is a strong international presence at this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland Race Course. Two hundred and one horses were pre-entered for this year’s event with 39 making the trip from outside North America.
The Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic is the marquee race at a championship event and annually attracts many of the best racehorses in training. This year is no different, with a competitive field of older horses, 3-year-olds, and potentially a filly in Swiss Skydiver lining up in the Nov.
