In October of 2021 I lost my heart horse of 20 years. Mystic was in his 30s and had been retired for some time, but our paths first crossed when I was in middle school – and now, in my 30s, I could barely remember a time without him.

Foal Patrol is a one-of-a-kind collection of live cameras following the daily activities of in-foal mares produced by the National Museum of Racing. Millions of people throughout the world have viewed the popular webcam program since its inaugural season in 2018.
We are finally in the homestretch of our journey, and oh man….what a ride! Although there really was no way I could have predicted how this would all come together, I have to say that I am very glad to know horses well enough to realize that anything can happen!
We are coming down to the wire! The Makeover is quickly approaching and I’m beginning to feel the pressure and excitement of all we have been working for.
To be honest, I had a lot of hesitation sitting down to write this blog post. After our experience at the horse show, I felt that I had nothing new to report. And up until a week ago, I was convinced I would be writing about overcoming injury, every horse girl’s worst nightmare. Looking back on this month after some of the massive milestones we experienced in months’ previous, I got anxious thinking that the Makeover is quickly approaching, and nothing stood out!
