The weekend racing fans wait for all year long is almost here as the top horses in the country and many from around the world will travel to Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., for the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
The last 20 years of the $2 million Qatar Racing Breeders’ Cup Sprint produced five editions decided by a neck or less and eight winners who paid $24.60 or higher for a $2 win bet. The most important sprint race in North America typically is a very exciting horse race.
Led by four 2022 Breeders’ Cup winners back to defend their titles, the 205 pre-entries for the 2023 edition of the World Championships match the number of last year’s event and are up 9% from the previous visit to Santa Anita Park in 2019.
Breeders’ Cup Limited revealed Oct. 25 the official order of races and post times for the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships as well as an expanded betting menu for the two-day event scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.
The culmination of horse racing’s second season (following the conclusion of the Triple Crown in June) is upon us, and the 2023 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic set for Nov. 4 at Santa Anita Park is shaping up a very competitive and exciting race befitting the 40th anniversary of the World Championships.
