Sam Herzberg races under the banner Sterling Stables. Herzberg is in the real estate business in Miami, and recently decided to try his hand in ownership.
His first purchase was Black Onyx, a Rock Hard Ten colt. Black Onyx claimed victory in the Spiral Stakes (G3), and in doing so earned 50 points in the new points system towards the 2013 Kentucky Derby.
