Baby Vino

Baby Vino began his career as a 2-year-old late in 2025 and won his maiden race as a 3-year-old in his fifth lifetime start going 1 1/16 miles at Oaklawn Park on May 1, 2026.

Baby Vino followed up his maiden win by going into stakes company and winning his stakes debut in the $150,000 Pegasus Stakes going 1 1/16 miles on Haskell Preview Day at Monmouth Park on June 13.

Baby Vino parlayed the automatic Haskell Stakes entry he earned with his Pegasus victory and next entered the Grade 1 $1 million NYRA Bets Haskell Stakes going 1 1/8 miles at Monmouth Park on July. Sent off at 28-1 odds in a seven-horse field in the Haskell that included Preakness Stakes winner Napoleon Solo and Toyota Blue Grass Stakes winner Further Ado among others, Baby Vino came from behind a slow pace on a sloppy track to challenge leading Napoleon Solo in the stretch. The pair battled it out through the final furlong with Baby Vino pinned to the rail by his opponent but was able to gamely prevail by a half a length to post the upset. The Haskell was a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series "Win and You're In" qualifier for the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic, and with this victory, Baby Vino earned a fees-paid Breeders' Cup entry.

Baby Vino is trained by Lindsay Schultz. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Vino Rosso out of the dame Discreetly Grand by Discreetly Mine.
