Taken to races as a baby, Zipse was a graduate of the racetrack well before he got his degree in Communications from DePaul University. He has seen all the greats perform from Secretariat through Flightline, and Ruffian to Thorpedo Anna. He names Spectacular Bid, Sunday Silence, and Rachel Alexandra as his all-time favorites. Editor of Horse Racing Nation for seven years, Zipse has covered the sport the past two decades as both a passionate fan and as a seasoned handicapper.
