The upcoming weekend in horse racing is highlighted by one of the best racecards of the year to date anchored by a star-studded Breeders’ Cup prep, followed by the final racecard at one of the nation’s signature tracks.

On Saturday, June 27, Churchill Downs runs seven stakes races on the second-to-last day of its spring-summer meet, topped by the $2 million Stephen Foster Stakes. The Foster is a “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic this fall, and drew a stellar field led by reigning Horse of the Year Sovereignty. Another Breeders’ Cup qualifier, the Fasig-Tipton Fleur de Lis Stakes (Longines Distaff) is also featured Saturday.

Then on Sunday, June 28, Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, N.Y., will conduct its final day of live racing after 132 years in operation. The “Big A” will shut down in advance of the September re-opening of a reconstructed Belmont Park on Long Island, which will take over Aqueduct’s spring-summer, fall, and winter dates. Sunday concludes the “Belmont at the Big A” meet that has been held annually since Belmont closed for an overhaul in 2023.

The Stephen Foster Stakes will be showcased during a two-hour broadcast airing on NBCSN and streaming on Peacock from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. ET. This show will be produced by FanDuel TV, and that network will televise the entire Churchill Downs Saturday card starting at 12:45 p.m. ET. FanDuel TV will also broadcast live racing from tracks such as Laurel Park, Woodbine, Los Alamitos, and Gulfstream Park as per its usual schedule.

Racing from Aqueduct will air on NYRA’s “America’s Day at the Races” during a four-day run starting Thursday, June 25, and ending Sunday with the track’s final card. “America’s Day at the Races” will also telecast select races from Monmouth Park and Horseshoe Indianapolis during the week. The show airs on FOX Sports – check below for channels and times.

Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku.

Don’t miss ABR’s “De Francis Day Live Show” livestream Saturday afternoon, focusing on four stakes from Laurel Park topped by the Frank De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes. The livestream, sponsored by Maryland Jockey Club, begins at 2:45 p.m. ET and can be viewed on ABR’s Facebook, X, and YouTube channels.
