Lorelei Lee made a powerful first impression, overcoming a troubled start by closing from 10^th of 12 in her career debut Jan. 8, 2026, at Turfway Park to win the three-quarter-mile race by 2 ¼ lengths.

The bay Nyquist filly was third in an allowance race at the same distance Feb. 21 in her second start before trainer Mike Maker tested her against stakes competition on the Kentucky Oaks trail. Lorelei Lee went right to the front in the $300,000 Bourbonette Oaks march 21 at Turfway and led from start to finish in a three-quarter-length victory under regular rider Fernando De La Cruz.

Lorelei Lee is one of three stakes winners produced by the Tapit mare Marilyn Monroan, who also is the dam (mother) of multiple graded stakes winner Somelikeithotbrown, a career earner of $1.7 million.
