That set Remember Mamba up for her stakes debut in the Grade 3, 1 1/16-mile UK HealthCareTransylvania Stakes April 3 at Keeneland. She overcame a poor start to unleash a sustained rally in the stretch and get up just in time under regular jockey Jose Ortiz, improving to 3-for-3 in her career.
Lee and Susan Searing of C R K Stable named Remember Mamba after the late NBA Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, nicknamed “Black Mamba.” The Kentucky-bred filly is out of the Street Cry mare Spring Street.
