Iron Honor

Iron Honor began his career as a 2-year-old with a win at first asking in his six-furlong debut at Aqueduct on Dec. 13, 2025. His second start came against stakes company in his 3-year-old debut in the Grade 3 $300,000 Gotham Stakes going one mile at Aqueduct on Feb. 28, 2026. Sent off as an odds-on favorite in a field of eight horses in the Gotham, Iron Honor traded the lead back and forth much of the race and finally got the best of pace challenger Crown the Buckeye in the final furlong to win by a length. The Gotham was a points race on the Road to the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, and with his win, Iron Honor earned 50 qualifying points.

Iron Honor finished seventh in the $750,000 Wood Memorial Stakes Presented by Resorts World Casino April 4 at Aqueduct in his final Triple Crown prep race.

Iron Honor tallied enough points to participate in the Kentucky Derby, but his connections instead opted to bypass the run for the roses and point directly to the second jewel of the Triple Crown in the Preakness Stakes on May 16 at Laurel Park. In the Preakness, Iron Honor stalked the pace throughout and made a move up to challenge for the lead at the top of the stretch but was outrun in that maneuver by Napoleon Solo and settled for second in a field of 14 horses.

Iron Honor is trained by Chad Brown. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Nyquist out of the dame Orencia by Blame.
