Proletariat

Proletariat won once in three starts at age 2 in 2025, taking a five-furlong turf maiden at Del Mar by a half-length. The son of Raging Bull finished third in his other three starts as a juvenile, including back-to-back show finishes in Grade 3 stakes on the southern California circuit, showing encouraging potential.

Trainer Jeff Mullins brought the now-gelded Proletariat back to turf racing on May 15, 2026, after a break of just over seven months. He rallied to win a six-furlong maiden race at Santa Anita Park by a length, and then took two months off.

Back at stakes level, Proletariat turned in an eye-catching effort when stretched out to one mile in Del Mar’s Caesars Sportsbook Oceanside Stakes July 17, leading from start to finish and romping by 5 ¾ lengths over 10 opponents. Then, he moved up in class again and also stretched out to 1 1/8 miles for the Grade 2 Caesars Sportsbook Del Mar Derby Aug. 23. Once again, the gelding took command from the outset and was never seriously challenged, winning by 1 ¼ lengths under regular jockey Kyle Frey.

Kentucky-bred Proletariat is out of the stakes-placed, winning Kodiac mare Kodiak West and is a half-brother to Group 2-placed Sun Never Sets.
