Mucho Del Oro began his career as a 3-year-old in 2021 and won his maiden in his second career start on April 18. He then added victories in either claiming or starter allowance races in May, June, and November of that season to end the year with four wins. The wins kept coming in what was an abbreviated three-race campaign in 2022 when he won all three outings including an allowance and a starter allowance win as well as a stakes victory in the Cottom Fitzimmons Mile Handicap on March 11 at Turf Paradise.

Mucho Del Oro became a graded stakes winner for the first time in his career as a 6-year-old in the Grade 3 $100,000 San Simeon Stakes on March 9, 2024. Going 6 1/2 furlongs on the downhill turf course at Santa Anita, Mucho Del Oro went wire to wire to top the eight-horse field by a half a length. He then scored another stakes victory on May 26 when taking the Grade 3 $100,000 Daytona Stakes in wire-to-wire fashion back on the 6 1/2-furlong downhill turf course at Santa Anita.
Mucho Del Oro is trained by Doug O'Neill. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Mucho Macho Man out of the mare Repeta by Broken Vow.
