Life's an Audible

Life’s An Audible, a daughter of Audible owned by Repole Stable, finished fourth in her debut in a race washed off turf at Saratoga and then graduated in her second start, a turf sprint at the Spa on Sept. 2, 2023. She was then elevated to stakes company and nearly won the Grade 2 Miss Grillo Stakes Oct. 4 during the Belmont at the Big A meet, finishing a half-length behind Hard to Justify.

That pair met again in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Nov. 3 at Santa Anita Park, where Life’s an Audible faded late to finish eighth, five lengths behind Hard to Justify. She then was given a break by trainer Todd Pletcher until Jan. 6, 2024, and began her 3-year-old campaign with a solid runner-up effort to Ozara in the Ginger Brew Stakes at Gulfstream Park.

In her next outing, Life’s an Audible tallied her first graded stakes win, finishing strong under a well-timed ride by Irad Ortiz Jr. to take the Grade 3 Sweetest Chant Stakes by a neck at Gulfstream Park.

Mike Repole paid $200,000 for the filly at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. 2-year-old auction in April 2023. She is out of the winning Data Link mare Catkins, who is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Uncontested.
