Lucky Score

Lucky Score showed some versatility in his first two seasons of racing in 2020 and 2021 with a win on turf and two wins on the synthetic Tapeta Footings surface at Woodbine while posting three wins, one second, and one third from his first seven races.

He began to blossom into a stakes-quality racehorse as a 4-year-old in 2022, winning a three-quarter-mile allowance race impressively June 26 on the main track at Woodbine, where he drew away late to win by 2 ¼ lengths. The Lookin At Lucky gelding’s stakes debut offered reason for optimism and he closed willingly for fourth, beaten by only 1 ¼ lengths in the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes Aug. 13 at Woodbine. Following a runner-up finish on the grass, Lucky Score went back to the Tapeta surface for his first stakes victory when he surged clear in the stretch to win the Grade 3 Vigil Stakes by 1 ¼ lengths Sept. 25 at Woodbine.  

Lucky Score ended his 2022 campaign with a third-place finish in the Grade 2 Kennedy Road Stakes at Woodbine on Nov. 27.

After taking the winter off, Lucky Score returned to the races for his 5-year-old season on June 4, 2023 with a runner-up finish at Woodbine. He returned to the winner's circle in his next race, which was a win in the Grade 2 $200,000 Highlander Stakes at six furlongs on the turf. Sent off at 14-1 odds on the tote board in a field of nine, Lucky Score made a last-to-first winning move to score by a half a length.

Lucky Score is a half-brother (same dam [mother], different sire [father]) to stakes winner Miss Matzoball.
