This Saturday, March 9, marks one of the busiest day of prep races for this season on the Road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, with a total of three stakes races scheduled that offer qualifying points for the May 4 Derby. Two of those preps offer points to the top four finishers on a 50-20-10-5 scale: the $300,000, Grade 3 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct; and the $400,000, Grade 2 Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby at Tampa Bay Downs. Also on March 9, Turfway Park in northern Kentucky will feature its annual Kentucky Derby prep, the $200,000, Grade 3 Jeff Ruby Steaks, which offers qualifying points on a 20-8-4-2 scale. The $500,000, Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita Park was originally scheduled for March 9 as well but will be postponed.

The Tampa Bay Derby, Gotham Stakes, and Jeff Ruby Steaks will be showcased during a three-hour broadcast of "Fox Sports Saturday At The Races" presented by America's Best Racing, Runhappy and Claiborne Farm. Hosted by Greg Wolf, the live show on FS2 will include commentary, handicapping and racing analysis from a combination of FOX Sports, NYRA and The Stronach Group personalities, including recently added analyst and Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. The March 9 broadcast runs from 4 to 7 p.m. ET.
