If you’re anywhere near Baltimore, Md., on Saturday, May 17, you have to get to Pimlico Race Course. Not only will Pimlico host the second leg of horse racing’s 2025 Triple Crown, it’ll be the final time that the Preakness Stakes will be held at the historic facility.

This year Pimlico Race Course and Thoroughbred racing will celebrate the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes.

After a whirlwind week in horse racing where TV viewership of the 151st Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve reached its highest mark since 1989, upcoming coverage of the sport returns to a normal level – but only briefly as the 150th Preakness Stakes is just around the corner on May 17.

Early weather forecasts for the Louisville area on Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve Day 2025 turned out to be… inaccurate. It didn’t matter as tens of thousands of fans attended a wet Churchill Downs on May 3 for a day spent eating, drinking, mingling, showing off fashion, and last but not least, betting.

Fair weather held up for the early part of Longines Kentucky Oaks Day 2025 at Churchill Downs, and fans flocked to the iconic Louisville racetrack by the tens of thousands to celebrate the 151st running of the Oaks and enjoy food, drink, fashion, and the overall atmosphere.
