Fashion is a strong tradition at all three Triple Crown events. (Photos by Eclipse Sportswire)

The Triple Crown is not only memorable for racing but also for the fun fashion that accompanies it! Let’s take a look at the three races and how style plays a different role in each of them.

One of the greatest things about horse racing’s Triple Crown is that it crowds so much action and excitement into a short five-week window. Believe it or not, we are less than ten days away from the 140th Preakness Stakes, which is quickly approaching on May 16. While you may still be neglecting that trip to the drycleaner to take care of your Kentucky Derby outfit, with the Preakness coming up next weekend you might want to start planning your wardrobe for the second leg of the Triple Crown.

Though it's known as the sport of kings, Thoroughbred racing regularly draws fans from all walks of life and the Kentucky Derby is no exception. Whether sporting the trendiest styles or an ensemble with a little more personality, Derby day patrons show that there is no better place to keep an eye out for fashion than Churchill Downs on the first Saturday in May, and this year's sunny skies were the perfect complement to a great outfit.

The Kentucky Oaks brings a Friday of fun and celebration annually, setting a perfect mood for crowning a new Kentucky Oaks victress. Whether laughing with friends or enjoying a refreshing Oaks Lily cocktail, the day is full of relaxation and great Thoroughbred racing.

Across the street from the backside of Churchill Downs is another world under glass. The Churchill Downs Horticultural Center is known affectionately as “the greenhouse.” It is a 12,000-square-foot facility where beautiful plants are expertly nurtured year round to support the grandeur and glory of Churchill Downs.
