What would be the one word that describes Thoroughbred racing? It is a sport with a storied history that stretches back centuries, featuring majestic creatures and legend-provoking stories, and one that allows people from all walks of life to unite in one loud roar that echoes throughout sacred grandstands as a backdrop to the thundering of hooves.

High-level Thoroughbred racing continues at tracks across North America this week, with special focus on a huge card Saturday, Sept. 21 at Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pa., highlighted by the Pennsylvania Derby and Cotillion Stakes.

This month marks my final update before the big Thoroughbred Makeover event in October, and it’s been quite a stressful ride! The biggest concern has been ensuring that both of my horses are fully prepared for the makeover show. Have I done everything possible to get them ready? Can I somehow keep them in a bubble to prevent any major injuries before the event? The list of worries goes on! Each horse is at a different stage in their training, with their own set of unique challenges.
