After a weekend in horse racing affected by weather conditions coast to coast, the activity picks back up to a large extent on the upcoming extended holiday weekend, with Fair Grounds hosting a Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve prep race on Saturday, Jan. 18, and several other tracks re-opening.

The first true can’t-miss event of the Thoroughbred racing calendar is approaching like a fast-finishing racehorse closing ground in the stretch, but there is still time to corral tickets to the 2025 Pegasus World Cup Jan. 25 at Gulfstream Park.

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), Daily Racing Form, and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB) today announced that Frank Taylor and the Stable Recovery Program will be honored with the Special Eclipse Award for service to the Thoroughbred industry.
