The horse racing world like all other areas of society continues to make changes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and public health crisis. Most racetracks currently operating are doing so without spectators, and have instituted strict safety screening protocols for essential employees who are already on the grounds to provide daily care for horses. Charities are ramping up services to help track workers during these hard times, while many other organizations including the Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation are redirecting resources to support medical efforts to combat the spread of the virus and support backstretch workers. (All proceeds from the Old Smoke T-shirt on sale below will go to the TJC Safety Net Foundation.)

Prep races for the Breeders' Cup World Championships on Nov. 6-7 at Keeneland Race Course have concluded, but premier race meets at Keeneland, Belmont Park, Santa Anita Park, Woodbine, Laurel Park and elsewhere continue this week. All of those tracks aside from Belmont Park are featured on TVG as part of its coast-to-coast coverage. TVG will air the Breeders' Stakes, the third leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, at Woodbine on Saturday, Oct. 24, which is highly anticipated as Mighty Heart attempts to win the race and sweep the Triple Crown, and also broadcast the Maryland Million stakes races at Laurel on Saturday.

Racing from Belmont Park is televised on “America’s Day at the Races." The NYRA-produced show runs Thursday through Sunday this week on FS2. The usual Belmont Park shows will also air on MSG+ and on regional Fox outlets Prime Ticket and Fox Sports San Diego – check NYRA’s website for those dates and times. "America's Day at the Races" will also broadcast races from the opening day of Churchill Downs' fall meet on Sunday, Oct. 25.

America’s Best Racing will cover the Breeders' Stakes at Woodbine with a special live streaming "Woodbine Live" show on Saturday, Oct.24, with a start time to be announced. Hosted by Dan Tordjman and Ashley Mailloux, the show will also feature special guests and handicapping insights. It can be viewed on ABR's Facebook Live, Twitter, or YouTube channels.

A don’t-miss highlight of this weekend’s radio coverage is "The Winner’s Circle," America’s Best Racing’s podcast presented by NYRA Bets. The show, hosted by Bram Weinstein, airs at 10 a.m. ET on Saturdays through Nov. 7 on Sports Map Radio. Subscribe to "The Winner's Circle" on Apple Podcasts to listen to archived episodes.

The Oct. 24 "Winner's Circle" guests are horse racing analyst Ashley Mailloux and Jordyn Egan from the Maryland Horse Breeders’ Association.
