Ryan L. Moore

Based in the United Kingdom, Ryan Moore has shipped over to North America to win some of the continent's most prestigeous races. Moore was aboard Conduit when the horse won the 2008 and 2009 Breeders' Cup Turf and was aboard the winners of both the 2011 (Wrote) and 2012 (George Vancouver) Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. In 2013, Moore swept the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (Dank) and Turf (Magician). He pulled off another double in 2015 when he guided Hit It a Bomb to a win in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and Found to victory in the Longines Breeders' Cup Turf. He picked up his ninth career Breeders' Cup win in 2017 when he guided Mendelssohn to victory in the Juvenile Turf.

Outside of the Breeders' Cup, Moore has won the Beverly D. Stakes, the Secretariat Stakes, the E. P. Taylor Stakes and the Canadian International Stakes.

In Europe, Moore has carved our a reputation as arguably the finest rider on the planet and has won some of the biggest races on the world stage, including the Epsom Derby, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the Irish and English Oaks, the King George VI and Queeen Elizabeth Stakes and many others. Moore was named England's Champion apprentice jockey in 2003 and is a three-time British champion, winning that award in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

In 2018 Moore won the UAE Derby aboard Mendelssohn to earn a place in the Kentucky Derby starting gate.

Moore has come over from Europe and made bank in the Breeders' Cup on several occasions during his career but had no wins since 2017 when he arrived at Keeneland for the 2022 Breeders' Cup World Championships. Almost everything he touched turned to gold, or silver, during the two-day 2022 event at Keeneland. Moore won three Breeders' Cup grass races over the two days and was second abord two more. He made noise on "Future Stars Friday" with wins in both the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and the Juvenile Turf, both for trainer Aidan O'Brien. Moore guided favored Meditate to a 2 1/2-length victory in the Juvenile Fillies Turf, and then threaded the needle through traffic in the stretch and won a stretch duel by a nose aboard Victoria Road in the Juvenile Turf for a two-win day. Moore then came back on Saturday and won the Maker's Mark Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf aboard Tuesday for Aiden O'Brien. That day he also finished second in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint aboard Emaraaty Ana for trainer Charlie Appleby and Godolphin, and he finished second in the $4 million Longines Breeders' Cup Turf aboard Stone Age for trainer Aidan O'Brien.

Moore in 2023 earned his 13th and 14th wins in the Breeders’ Cup, guiding Unquestionable in the Prevagen Juvenile Turf to victory by 1 ½ lengths as the 3-2 favorite and striking the next day with Auguste Rodin by three-quarters of a length in the Longines Turf. 

Lake Victoria gave Moore a win on "Future Stars Friday" at the 2024 Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar. He gave her a perfect ride in the John Deere Juvenile Fillies Turf as the odds-on favorite for her fifth win in as many starts. Two races later on the card, the jockey added yet another Breeders’ Cup win aboard Henri Matisse in the Juvenile Turf.
