Zenden

Zenden posted a clear victory in his first career start on Sept. 29, 2018, at Gulfstream Park. He was impressive again in his second race when motoring clear to a two-length score in the Buffalo Man Stakes on Dec. 8.

Zenden made his 3-year-old debut in the Grade 3 Swale Stakes and ran second to Call Paul. Stretching out around two turns for the first time in his next start, Zenden set the pace in the Grade 2 Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby and faded late to finish fourth.

In his next start, Zenden finished a disappointing eighth in the Stonestreet Lexington Stakes. He was then rested for nearly seven months before returning with new trainer Todd Pletcher. The colt won an allowance race at Gulfstream Park West in November 2019 and then ran fourth and second in two Grade 3 events at nearby Gulfstream Park.

In his second start of 2021, Zenden prevailed to win the Pelican Stakes in a photo finish at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 13. Samy Camacho had the winning ride on the 7-1 shot. It was Zenden's first stakes win since his win in the Buffalo Man. He followed with a career-best performance in winning the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen Sponsored By Gulf News March 27 at Meydan, however, he suffered catastrophic injuries shortly after the finish line and was euthanized.
