Wimbledon Hawkeye (GB)

Wimbledon Hawkeye won two races in Great Britain in his first 11 lifetime outings at ages 2 and 3 and finished second by a nose in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes going 1 1/2 miles at Goodwood on July 31, 2025.

Wimbledon Hawkeye was sent to race in the United States for the first time when entered in the Grade 3 DK Horse Nashville Derby Invitational Stakes going 1 5/16 miles at Kentucky Downs on Aug. 30. The purse of the Nashville Derby was $3.5 million by Wimbledon Hawkeye raced for a purse of $2 million as the only non-Kentucky-bred runner in the 12-horse field that was not eligible for the extra $1.5 million in state-bred funds. Wimbledon Hawkeye made the best of his chance in the rich turf race when he came out on top of a 12-horse field from post 12 to win by a game and hard-fought head as the 2.27-1 favorite ahead of Burnham Square. Several 3-year-old graded stakes winners were among the also-rans in the race including Sandman, Tiztastic, Hill Road, Test Score, and Final Gambit.
