Velocity

Velocity won her maiden race in her second lifetime outing as a 3-year-old on March 29, 2025, and then followed it up two starts later with her second career win in an allowance optional claiming race at Del Mar on July 20. 

Velocity was the 35-1 odds upset winner of the Grade 1 $300,000 Del Mar Oaks presented by Keeneland Sales going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Del Mar on August 16. Velocity came from mid-pack in a 10-horse field and got up in the stretch to win by a half a length.

Velocity is trained by Michael McCarthy. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Nyquist out of the mare Blast by Harlan's Holiday.
