Unquestionable, a French-bred Wootton Bassett colt, won his second career start in a six-furlong sprint May 27, 2023, at the Curragh in Ireland and then finished second by a nose in his stakes debut, the Group 2 Railway Stakes at the same course and distance. The Aidan O’Brien trainee then ran in two consecutive Group 1 stakes, finishing fourth in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh and then second by a length in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp.

He was sent off as the 3-2 post-time favorite after stablemate River Tiber was scratched, and Unquestionable ran up to those expectations with an impressive 1 ½-length win in the 1 1/16-mile turf race under jockey Ryan Moore.
